Don’t you just love getting glammed up? Well I know Kukere master Iyanya & songstress Emma Nyra now do after their make over with celebrity makeup artist Edee Beau.
For their photo shoot with Ping Magazine, the Nigerian celebs had their hair and makeup done courtesy of Edee.
Describing the process and what she did for each for them Edee said “On Iyanya we just did a little bit of powder to take away the shine. But of course Emma Nyra got the full Edee Beau treatment with not 1 but 3 different looks; sweet, sultry and glamorous to match her many gorgeous outfits. The Edee Beau team loved every minute of the shoot.”
The final images will be published in the next issue of Ping magazine.

We are still taking a look at the fabulous Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2013 that held from the 28th to 30th of August 2013 & also where Zimbabwean fashion rocked.
Today, we are looking at another great designer – Zuvva. The design label bright red, green, blue and white hes to the runway in flowing gowns, knee length dresses, structured jackets, brights leggings and overcoats.
I liked how each piece looked very differently from the next and the understated simplicity of each piece. But that’s just me, it’s time for our fabulous BN Style watchers (of course I’m talking about you) to tell us what you think.

Rationale of the Black Panther and the Iron Musical Throne
Music Meets Runway 2013 - BellaNaija - September 2013005
The Black Panther signifies power, struggle, freedom and empowerment of the black race. MMR 2013 is celebrating music & fashion icons who have been recognized internationally and as such have put us (Nigeria) on the world map. “Panthers” are known for their extra-terrestrial strength and these iconic pioneers are determined men and women who are not only passionate but believe in hard work.
The Iron Throne represents the political relationship between both fields (fashion and music) metaphorically. Fashion has always needed music to get to a certain level of acceptance by the public. And this year, as seen in “The Game Of Thrones“, MMR is filled with suspense, intrigue and lots of power; the fashion gurus will literally ride on music to showcase their inherent creativity.

BN Beauty: All Hail Ombre! 6 Steps to Achieving Ombre Coloured Lips

By joan ifeoma
How to Achievce an Ombre Toned Lip - BellaNaija - September 2013It is surprising how one word transferred from the French to English vocabulary can cause an uproar in both fashion and beauty. Taken from the French word Ombre /ˈämbər/ which means “shaded”, this trend has being welcomed with open arms and can be seen everywhere – from the international runways and hair trends to nails and editorial spreads and even in food.
To the layman, ombre is defined as the side by side arrangement of colours from the darkest to the lightest. But with every season that rolls by, the Ombre trend reinvents itself. Now, it is no surprise to see complimentary colours in different tones and families used.
Surprising to note, this trend has actually been with us since the evolution of makeup, but no particular name was used to describe it. More often than not, our encounter with ombre was in makeup, via the ‘two-toned lips’ (called that because only two shades were used to achieve it).
The easiest way to take part in the ombre trend is by sporting an ombre lip. Using soft, pastel colours or vibrant and pulsing colours, this lip can be worn anywhere.

Is it difficult to achieve? The answer is no. It is actually quite easy. But before you proceed though with your shading, you must keep these in mind.
  1. It is always better to use a lipstick for this due to the thicker, denser formulation as opposed to a lip gloss which has a lighter consistency and moves around easily.
  2. For the first timers, choose colours in the same family e.g. Wine, vibrant pink and pale pink.
  3. For the lightest effect for your inner lip, white can be used. Products for this are NYX jumbo pencil in Milk and the white cremes in the MUFE Flash palette and Magnolia Infinity palette.

Now that we have got that down, here are 6 easy steps to achieving the perfect ombre lip.
  1. Choose the shades of lipstick you would like to use.
  2. Divide your upper and lower lips into 3 imaginary horizontal lines.
  3. Apply lip liner to your lips in matching shades to the lipsticks in the 3 sections (with the darker shade at the outer corners and the lightest in the inner area of the lips).
  4. Using a lip brush, apply the lip shades generously on top of the matching pencils.
  5. The final step is to put your lips together and lightly but firmly rub them together blending the edges of the different shades together.
  6. Use a lip brush to achieve a smoother finish.
Need something more visual? Then watch Jackie of LilpumpkinPie05 achieve a dramatic ombre lip with purple, orange & yellow.
If you have any tips on how to achieve an ombre lip don’t forget to share it with us. Have a great day.
